Answer: Double click My Computer (usually located on the desktop) using the right mouse button. Right click the floppy drive containing the disk you wish format. Choose the format option in the menu.

Answer: Selecting multiple files, click on the first icon, and then hold down the SHIFT key while you click the last icon to be selected. To change an icon from selected to unselected, hold down the CTRL key while you select the icon.

Answer: To change the color palette setting, click the desktop with the right mouse button, choose Properties, and click the Settings tab. Click the down arrow next to Color palette, and choose your palette.

Answers: Click on the icon you want to rename and select 'rename'.

Answer: First, select the file or files to be deleted. And then use the right mouse button to click on the selection. Hold down the SHIFT key while clicking DELETE (Or hold down the SHIFT key when pressing the DELETE key if using the keyboard).

Question: How to turn off the Windows 95 Logo When Booting?

Answer: To remove the Windows 95 logo on startup, you can do the following:

1) Open file msdos.sys in Notepad.

2) Find the [Options] section.

3) Add this line in the Options section: Logo=0

Reboot your machine and there should be no logo on startup.

Question: How to replace the Startup, Shut Down, and 'Please Wait' Screens?


Answer: These files are 320x400 Windows Bitmap files, located in the Windows folder. They are:

--> "Logo.sys" -- the startup screen

--> "Logow.sys" -- the one that says "Please wait while your computer shuts down."

--> "Logos.sys" -- the one that says "It is now safe to turn your computer off."

You can use any graphic design program to create your new "startup", "shutdown" and "wait" files. While editing the files, it's better to work at 534x400 size files. Then resize them, back to 320x400. After saving, rename them to (filename).sys. Move them into the Windows folder when finished.

Question: How to quick restart of Win95 after changing the configuration of your system?

Answer: Press and hold the shift key while clicking START-SHUTDOWN-RESTART THE COMPUTER.
